Pixy Runic

Typeface design for the Children of Roena cult.

Children of Roena is a collaborative performance by the design department of the Sandberg Instituut Amsterdam, initiated by Roel Wouters and Luna Maurer. The Children of Roena event took place on October 24th, 2009, at Mediamatic, Amsterdam.

The evening was destined to launch the limited
edition fanzine, The Collective. It's a publicationabout the dynamics of collectives in the context of social networks. During this event, the visitors said goodbye to their individuality and joined the Children of Roena cult.

Pixy Runic is designed for a contemporary cult reflecting on digital social culture. The typeface carries the forms of runic signs while having a pixel-digit composition.
